Night Under Fire

Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park has always be Gutierrez Brothers Racing (GBR) favorite event of the year! This time it was a little different. Normally, this race is more of a event for fans with only two top alcohol dragsters to face off for a trophy but this year they made it a NHRA regional race for the alcohol teams. Friday would have had two qualifiers in the evening but due to weather there was only one. GBR had a clean A to B pass going 5.40 at 263mph.

Saturday morning was full of rain again so the alcohol class was only allowed one more qualifier Saturday at noon. GBR made another clean pass going 5.38 at 262mph which put them 7th and going up against Tony Stewart for round one of eliminations. Unfortunately, in round one of eliminations Tony beat us with a 5.303 at 268mph to our 5.305 at 266mph!! Such a close race and with that pass GBR was the fastest blown car on the property!! After the run all the drivers of the event did an autograph signing!

Their next race is the NHRA US Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park August 30-September 2. Click HERE for tickets! Don’t forget to follow GBR on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM!! Make sure you click HERE for GBR T-Shirts and other merchandise.
