Tough Break

After coming off a big win at the Norwalk Regional race, the Gutierrez Brothers Racing (GBR) team went into the Norwalk National race with good hopes. However, that changed after qualifying round one and two when the team found themselves qualified 10th out 17.

GBR was fighting the clutch with every run and just couldn’t make the car go any faster than a 5.44 at 263mph. Due to thunderstorms for most of the morning on Saturday qualifying round three was cancelled and the field was set for eliminations round one that evening.

Unfortunately, GBR faced the same clutch problem and lost first round. To say the very least this past weekend was tough for GBR but they will keep moving forward.

Their next race is the NHRA Regional event at National Trails Raceway July 12-13. Click here for TICKETS. Qualifying will be on Friday and eliminations will be Saturday. See you there!
