WHO will win the BIG prize?

Gutierrez Brothers Racing (GBR) will be heading to Virginia Motorsports Park for the first time this weekend for the track’s huge Night of Fire event!! Eight Top Alcohol Dragsters will compete for a $10,000 prize and because it is a part of the PDRA ProStars event, the teams will also be competing for the first ever non-sanctioned PDRA 660 man trophy!!

“I am pumped!” said JP. “I can’t wait to see what Virginia Motorsports Park has in store for the show. These eight dragsters are going to give the fans an amazing show especially with it being a call out run method and under the lights! I was honored to get the call and would never turn down an opportunity to run at a new track under lights!”

GBR is coming off an interesting last weekend in Columbus Ohio. The first pass of the weekend ended with the GBR dragster in the sand for the first time ever! “It wasn’t what we would ever hope for but as for the car it was okay just extremely dirty,” said Phil. Thanks to friends the team was able to make it up for the next qualifying pass and made their way to round two when they unfortunately got beat by Mike Coughlin. 

Friday will start with open testing in the  afternoon from 2:00PM to 8:00PM before the one round of qualifying around 9:30PM. Eliminations start on Saturday at contested at 12:20PM The semi-finals which will be run during the Night of Fire portion of the event at 6:35 pm. The final round will at 9:00PM. So that just leaves us with one question….WHO will win the BIG prize??!!
